Commercial Capability Lead

The Commercial Capability Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing training and development strategies that enhance the commercial effectiveness of the sales organization. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing to identify capability gaps, develop learning solutions, and drive a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Responsibilities:

Capability Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a commercial capability roadmap aligned with business goals and sales strategy.

  • Conduct Training needs assessments to identify skill gaps across sales teams and propose targeted interventions.

Learning Design & Delivery

  • Design and deliver engaging learning programs (e.g., onboarding, product training, consultative selling, negotiation).

  • Leverage blended learning approaches including workshops, coaching, and simulations.

Sales Enablement & Tools

  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to ensure training is supported by the right tools, content, and technology.

  • Drive adoption of CRM and other digital platforms through capability building.

Performance & Impact Measurement

  • Define KPIs to measure training effectiveness and impact on sales performance.

  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve learning programs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Sales Leaders to embed learning into daily operations and performance management.

  • Work with HR and Talent teams to align commercial capability with broader L&D and talent strategies.

Experience & Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales, L&D, or Commercial Excellence roles.
  • Proven track record in designing and delivering impactful sales training programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Experience with learning platforms and sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
