Corteva Agrisciences is seeking a Research Associate to join our team in Woodland, California.  In this role, you will use your agronomic and scientific experience to act as an integral member of our Central Operations team. 



Under minimal guidance, conducts experiments, complex technical operations, or information search/analysis projects and optimizes and interprets methodologies and analysis and suggests experiments or alternative approaches. Recognizes erroneous or unexpected results, interprets and analyzes results and makes suggestions based on their analysis and conclusions. Interprets and analyzes results, makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow. Independently adapts new methodology to current projects.

  • Knowledge of plant physiology and phenotypic data collection
  • Knowledge of row and specialty crops
  • Knowledge of tree fruit is desirable
  • Knowledge of predictive agriculture, GIS, and remote sensing is preferred
  • Meeting and working with experiment managers to ensure the proper collection of all traits and activities
  • Work directly with the trait collection group to aid in all field or warehouse activities and data QC
  • Management of large groups of contract labor to achieve Central Operations trait collection goals
  • Responsible for seed inventory for the station
  • Responsible for experiment preparation
  • Responsible for process management and protocol development
  • Interact within the all programs at the station to keep all areas of responsibility organized for the betterment of the station
  • During down time, this role may take on additional responsibilities including computer programming in Outsystems, R, and MS Access
  • Spanish language skills desirable 


What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Bachelors degree in agronomy, natural resource management, or a related field of study
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to drive
  • Ability to manage large crews
  • Ability to work outside during high summer temperatures
  • Initiative, Fast learner, people-logistics oriented
The following are preferred:
  • Experience in row, specialty, and tree fruit
  • Proficiency in Spanish
