Job Description:

Position Description:

This position will lead the safety program and procedures for CBH CO-OP.  The responsibility includes leadership of safety programs, development and implementation of their policies and procedures, and meeting training requirements.  Ensure high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication, continued employee development and team building, as well as improve employee – customer relationships.  This position will report to the Director of Human Resources.

 

Position Responsibilities

This position requires the ability to develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all required Federal, State and Company policies. Demonstrate attention to detail, able to make good judgements quickly and the ability to multi-task.

  • Provide annual insurance comparison quotes to include General Liability, Property Casualty, Commercial Auto and Workers Compensation.
  • Monitor and work with insurance company during ALL worker compensation cases.
  • Conduct employee and manager education and training in safe work habits.
  • Conduct job safety analysis for all jobs and workplaces.
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA regulations.
  • Implement best practices to promote safe procedures at all levels across the co-op.
  • Conduct accident/near-miss investigations with root cause analysis and corrective action identification and implementation.
  • Audit safe work practices and procedures.
  • Conduct introductory training for new employees.
  • Establish safety throughout the company.
  • Identify risk areas to address before accidents occur and implement solutions to eliminate or minimize the risk.
  • Lead the efforts to reduce all exposures – health hazards, occupational illnesses, and workplace accidents – and to minimize costs.
  • Schedule, conduct and secure records for monthly Safety Committee Meeting.
  • Establish, maintain, and keep current training records for all employees.
  • Design and manage the Safe Worker Reward Programs.
  • Assist as directed in other areas of the business.


Essential Functions

This position requires the ability to perform a combination of the following duties during 95% of work day/shift.  Although exact duties may vary from day to day, our business and staffing model make it essential to be able to perform all of the following duties accurately, efficiently and safely on a regular basis.

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, reliability, punctuality, efficiency and quality.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, and be able to multi-task utilizing effective time management to meet stringent and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment for other employees and guests.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Proficiency in computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Bachelor of Science
