It's always difficult to confront and manage a poor performer, but during a pandemic when many employees are working remotely the danger is not only for the underperformer but how it impacts others and the organization.

Negative, unreliable, disorganized, distracted, contrary, late, difficult, unproductive—have you ever worked with or supervised THAT person? Maybe you’ve been THAT person from time to time?

It’s easy for managers to say they’ll deal with an underperformer later, especially since COVID has complicated matters, people are working remotely, and on and on. The danger is not only for the underperformer, but in their impact on others around them and the entire organization. However, not all hope is lost, nor is an immediate parting of ways inevitable, with effective performance management techniques.

AgCareers.com is hosting the Handling Poor Performance in a Virtual World Webinar on March 26, 2021. Peak performance is directly correlated to specific leadership and operational practices, but poor performance can arise even when these are well executed. In this webinar, Jeff Hunt from GoalSpan will explore both the core leadership strategies that lead to high performance, and how to address underperforming workers.

The trend toward remote working began long ago, but the pandemic has accelerated it, leaving the world of work forever changed. The migration to virtual work has caused unique and unforeseen challenges for leaders, especially in performance management. In this webinar pre-approved for SHRM and HRCI continuing education credits, participants will learn:

  • How to establish clarity at the organization, team, and individual level
  • Setting effective goals and aligning them for success
  • Feedback and performance management best practices
  • Correcting poor performance
