The plant Facilities Technician supports the operations of industrial plant by assisting engineers in the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant facilities systems and equipment. This role ensures that facilities machinery, processes, and safety systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in assessing the operational efficiency and functionality of plant facilities systems and machinery.
Support the design, installation, and maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure proper function and compliance with operational and safety standards.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions or performance issues; assist in troubleshooting and corrective actions.
Help develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
Collaborate with plant management and maintenance teams to improve plant performance and reduce operational costs.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to plant operations.
Assist in implementing quality control and safety measures to prevent accidents.
Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
Support inventory management of tools, parts, and supplies for plant operations.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in engineering, technical, or related field preferred. Knowledge of but not limited to boilers, HVAC and electrical systems.
Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in plant facilities operations, maintenance, or engineering support.
Skills:
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to follow safety protocols and work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and plant management software is a plus.
Certifications: Universal Refrigeration Certification and OSHA 10-Hour or equivalent safety certification preferred.
Work Environment
Works in industrial plant settings, often outdoors or in production areas.
May require lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Exposure to machinery, chemicals, refringent or electrical systems; adherence to PPE requirements is mandatory.
