ADM is seeking a port engineer to oversee lineboat projects, overhauls and shipyard repairs at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) in St. Louis, MO. This position reports to the lineboat Vessel manager in Westwego, LA.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on gasoline and marine engines, motors, and related marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals
Perform project manager functions for various shipyard periods and major repairs/conversions
Establishes, maintains, and supervises preventive maintenance programs for marine engines and related marine equipment, including main engine and generator overhaul program.
Troubleshoots and tests marine equipment to determine need for repairs or adjustments
Operates hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair
Supervises shop employees including mechanics and utility personnel.
Purchases parts and supplies
Writes specifications for and recommends purchase of marine equipment
Working indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time in environments at varying temperatures and noise levels
Kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders and working on the telephone
