The role

An opportunity has arisen for an HR Business Partner (HRBP) position providing high quality HR services for our ADM location in Amsterdam, for approximately 150 employees. This role has both tactical and operational elements in a dynamic, international matrix environment. In this role you have to deal with a diverse group of employees in different levels. You will work closely with commercial and corporate (support) teams that are based on our location in Amsterdam.

In this role you report to the HR Manager Benelux and you are part of the HR Benelux team.

ResponsibilitiesTactical HR and HR policy execution:
  • You are a business partner for management and help them achieve their goals
  • You are responsible for the preparation and implementation of the annual performance and development HR cycles, including Employee Engagement
  • You are proactive in identifying HR trends (e.g. in the field of sustainable employability, absenteeism and performance) in the business and you work together with your stakeholders to find and implement solutions
  • You support (regional) HR initiatives and relevant projects, assisting the business to achieve objectives
People development:
  • You develop, train and coach managers in their people management role
  • You give advice on talent development, succession planning and competence development of employees and teams
  • You recruit and select internal and external talents together with recruitment team
  • You provide solicited and unsolicited (legal) advice on performance management and absenteeism cases
Organization development:
  • You actively advise management on the design of an effective organizational structure and related competencies
  • You are the 'change manager' in projects with people impact in your scope
  • You are supporting the HR Manager Benelux in the field of Works Council matters
  • You are the 'ambassador' of ADM's leadership behavior. You set an example in this, and you identify and adjust where necessary


About You

As a seasoned, energetic and result driven HRBP you have a proven track record. You enjoy working together in an HR team where we support each other and together, we continuously look for opportunities to add value to our business. You are a business partner in the true sense of the word, and you work closely with the various stakeholders. You are able to think and act ahead and connect naturally and easily gain energy out of building professional networks and authentic relationships.

Further you have the following:
  • Relevant Bachelor or master's degree in HR related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, of which 3 years as an HR Business Partner in the Netherlands in dynamic, international corporate matrix environment (pre)
  • Solid and up to date knowledge of Dutch employment law
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g. SuccessFactors/SAP)
  • Practical 'hands-on' mentality and flexibility in working hours
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills: assertive, organized, team player, problem solver and service oriented
  • Ability to easily switch between different levels and business units in the organization
  • Experienced in project management and continuous improvement
  • Fluent written and spoken English is required; Dutch is strongly preferred
