Field Supervisor, ADM Mechanical - Decatur, IL

This role resides within ADM's Carbohydrate Solutions division. This is a permanent, full-time, exempt-level position.

Job Summary

This key operational role is responsible for all aspects of the daily operations of field service teams on location at ADM Decatur complex locations.

The Field Supervisor sets and maintains ADM's high standards for Safety and Quality for all colleagues while maintaining production and efficiency excellence. This individual will have a leading role in developing, implementing, and driving performance improvement, and must be excellent at training and developing operational staff.

The successful candidate will be a good communicator who can nurture outstanding interplant, commercial, and customers relationships. Additionally, they will have the ability to identify and decisively solve problems as they arise, develop and supervise capital improvement projects, and maintain records in accordance with established ADM policies.

The Field Supervisor reports directly to the ADM Mechanical Plant Manager. Direct reports will be Field Service Lead persons, Field Service Fabricators, and Millwright Technicians.

Job Responsibilities

Production:
  • Manage all Field Service Jobs and assign field service groups to daily tasks
  • Coordinate production schedules with Location Capital project managers
  • Proactively lead and support operational excellence initiatives
  • Provide technical knowledge for processes and equipment
  • Maintain close contact with field service groups to ensure personnel preform high quality work for a competitive cost
  • Plan, initiate, and execute projects on time and within budget
  • Continually coach and develop operation staff
Health, Safety & Environmental:
  • Facilitate and ensure adherence to safety laws, regulations, rules and sound practices
  • Work with reginal and local management on the continued development and implementation of Health, Safety Environmental programs, policies and procedures
  • Ensure that unsafe behaviors and conditions are corrected and reported
  • Maintain the necessary Health, Safety & Environmental records and documentation
  • Perform Safety audits and set the example for safety
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Maintenance production supervisory experience
  • Excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation, organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must have confident and courteous manner
  • Must have a strong commitment to employee safety
  • Ability to analyze data and make good quality, data driven decisions
  • Ability to prioritize ongoing workload, including customer interactions
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strongly prefer a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
  • 10+ years of hands-on supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations training
  • Strong Mechanical and Fabrication background with general construction knowledge
