General Purpose and Scope of Position:

We are looking for a talented Senior Technical Program Manager who shares our passion for building innovative products to solve complex problems in the agriculture domain. The Senior Technical Program Manager has primary responsibility for defining, designing, planning, tracking, and managing key features of an innovative and market-leading Cloud Service Solution developed for Agronomists and Agricultural Growers. He/she is responsible for identifying technical and user requirements and providing the direction necessary for meeting the solution objectives and timelines. The Senior Technical Program Manager must also be able to manage the design and development schedule, user requirements, and task details and produce innovative designs. He/she must be able to manage change and take active leadership in timely decision-making. Finally, the Senior Technical Program Manager must have the courage to face up to issues squarely and early, resolve conflicts, admit to problems and seek coaching openly, escalate if necessary, and generally champion the people and the solution up, down, and across the organization.

 

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • 6+ years of direct work experience building software features for software products or programs is a must
  • Experience in Agile Development and Jira
  • Experience in cloud-based and mobile products
  • Critical analysis and accountability
  • Excellent people skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Leadership qualities, including meeting facilitation, time management, organizational skills, and ability to influence others
  • Ability to work with and lead the efforts of other team members

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Understand customer needs, define problem statements, research solutions, develop data-driven proposals
  • Design software solutions/features to problems
  • Manage the development of software features and projects
  • Translate between technical and business audiences
  • Assume overall responsibility for ensuring the Product’s features are designed, planned, managed, and delivered in accordance with agreed work plans and objectives
  • Discover and articulate technical requirements and dependencies
  • Add value in technical discussions concerning feature design and implementation
  • Ensure that the development and execution of all the solution’s features are on time and to budget
  • Accurately document feature designs in Specification Documents, JIRA Stories, and other solutions as appropriate
  • Demonstrate full accountability for all tasks and proactively manage action items, issues, and deliverables. Drive progress
  • Support the implementation of features, coordinating with internal and external resources, and working with cross-functional departments as required
  • Support multiple feature projects and/or process improvement initiatives simultaneously (in various stages of implementation)
  • Assist Customer Support to provide troubleshooting and bug investigation and understand customer requests
  • Act as SCRUM Master, lead and/or participate in SCRUM Meetings, Grooming, and Planning meetings as necessary
  • Facilitate and lead cross-organizational discussions and meetings
  • Attending training sessions and meetings when necessary

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $98,400 - $137,500.  Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.   This position is eligible for many benefits, such as vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, bonus, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
