General Purpose and Scope of Position: 
 
The Wilbur-Ellis Company is primarily involved in mixing, processing, and transferring animal feed ingredients. We’re seeking a Plant Operator for the forage Facility to assist in all aspects of plant production, quality control, maintenance, and facility cleanliness.
 
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
  • Willingness to operate material handling equipment, including a forklift, telehandler, and other equipment as required
  • Ability to lift packages to 50 lb. (or 110 lb. With a partner).
  • Good math and organizational skills
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete the necessary documentation. The ability to read and write English is required
  • Willing to work overtime hours as needed

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include: 
  • Learn and train all roles required at the plant ( forklift, container loading, etc.)
  • Operate and maintain processing equipment as outlined in SOP’s
  • Maintain facility cleanliness throughout all operations
  • Perform Quality Control while handling products
  • Accurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
  • Warehousing, including receiving, shipping, and organizing
  • Follow all safety, regulatory, and administrative policies and procedures
  • Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management professionally and efficiently
  • Exposure to high levels of hay dust may aggravate allergies and asthma.
  • This role is onsite and located in a rural area; personal transportation to and from the plant is required.
 
Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $18.70 - $24.89 per hour.  Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.  This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
