Strategic Business Consultant - Brevant Seeds


The Strategic Business Consultant (SBC) serves as a key business partner to Brevant Seeds Midwest field teams and retail customers. This role helps connect market insights, customer trends, competitive intelligence, and business data to practical actions that drive growth.


The SBC works across sales, leadership, account management, and retail partners to identify opportunities, solve business challenges, and support better decision-making. Success in this role comes from turning information into clear recommendations, strengthening customer relationships, and helping teams focus on the opportunities that matter most.


Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with sales leaders and field teams to identify growth opportunities and business priorities.
  • Support annual, seasonal, and account planning efforts with fact-based recommendations.
  • Help translate company strategy into practical actions that can be executed in the field.
  • Facilitate business discussions that improve focus, accountability, and results.

Market Insights & Competitive Intelligence

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity.
  • Identify opportunities and risks impacting market share and business performance.
  • Deliver insights that help field teams and retail partners make informed business decisions.
  • Communicate complex market information in a simple and actionable way.

Data Analysis & Decision Support

  • Analyze GPOS, sales, and market data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop recommendations that improve sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and business performance.
  • Present findings to leadership, sales teams, and retail partners.
  • Measure and track outcomes to ensure recommended actions are delivering results.

Retail Partner Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with strategic retail customers.
  • Lead insight-based discussions with key accounts.
  • Use data and market knowledge to help customers improve business performance.
  • Partner with account managers and Brevant field teams to develop customer growth plans and strengthen long-term relationships.

Sales Enablement & Training

  • Provide training and coaching on market insights, business trends, and data interpretation.
  • Equip field teams with tools and insights that improve customer conversations.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across regions and teams.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor''s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in sales, account management, retail agriculture, business strategy, market analytics, or related roles.
  • Experience utilizing sales, market, and customer data to drive business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams, customers, and leaders without direct authority.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within the seed, crop protection, agriculture retail, or agribusiness industry.
  • Experience working directly with strategic retail accounts.
  • Experience with GPOS, market share analysis, and customer profitability insights.
  • Proven success developing growth strategies and driving adoption through field sales organizations.

Travel is 50% during peak times (Q1/Q3) of the year.

The salary range for this position is $ to $.

This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.
