We are hiring for an EMEA-APAC Sales Effectiveness Leader to join our team in Versoix, Switzerland.
The EMEA-APAC Sales Effectiveness Leader partners with regional and country leadership teams to translate business strategy into execution excellence. The role leads the development and deployment of sales effectiveness frameworks, systems, analytics, planning methodologies, capability programs, incentive strategies, go-to-market models and commercial policies that enable countries to improve productivity, customer engagement and sustainable business performance.
The position brings together regional standards and local business needs, ensuring that investments in commercial people, processes, data and technology deliver measurable outcomes. The role leads through influence across functions and geographies and acts as a strategic partner to commercial leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Deployment
- Lead the deployment, adoption and continuous improvement of commercial systems and digital tools across EMEA and APAC.
- Partner with country teams, global functions and IT to translate business requirements into scalable solutions that improve commercial execution, customer engagement, data quality and decision-making.
- Provide regional governance for CRM, sales enablement, coaching, analytics and planning platforms, including implementation priorities, adoption expectations and benefits tracking.
- Lead change management and stakeholder alignment to embed new tools and processes within country commercial operating models.
Commercial Analytics and Business Insights
- Develop and institutionalize data-driven decision-making across the commercial organization through consistent performance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards and reporting standards.
- Partner with commercial and business insights teams to identify growth opportunities, diagnose performance gaps and evaluate the impact of commercial initiatives.
- Convert complex commercial data into clear, actionable recommendations for regional and country leadership teams.
- Promote common definitions, data quality and disciplined performance reviews while allowing for relevant country-specific business needs.
Territory Planning, Sales Force Activity Planning and Optimization
- Lead the design and deployment of territory planning and sales force effectiveness methodologies across EMEA and APAC to optimize customer coverage, resource allocation and commercial productivity.
- Partner with country leadership teams to define sales force sizing, territory structures, customer assignment models, segmentation strategies and activity planning frameworks aligned with business priorities.
- Establish best practices for sales force deployment, call planning, account coverage, activity targets and customer engagement models.
- Use data and analytics to identify productivity opportunities and guide optimization initiatives that improve customer reach, field execution and return on commercial investment.
- Facilitate country planning workshops and provide ongoing guidance to ensure plans are translated into practical field execution.
Sales Force Compensation Strategy
- Provide regional leadership and subject-matter expertise for sales force compensation effectiveness.
- Guide the design, governance and continuous improvement of compensation programs (commissions and SIP) so they align business priorities, desired sales behaviors and measurable performance outcomes.
- Assess program effectiveness and recommend improvements that support growth, productivity, fairness, talent attraction and retention.
Sales Capability, Training and Coaching
- Define regional commercial capability priorities and establish frameworks for competency assessment, onboarding, training, coaching and continuous development.
- Partner with country commercial effectiveness leads to identify capability gaps and translate them into targeted development plans for sales leaders and customer-facing teams.
- Lead the deployment and adoption of coaching methodologies, assessment tools and sales enablement solutions.
- Support the development of a strong coaching culture and ensure capability programs are connected to business priorities and field performance.
Go-to-Market Excellence
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of go-to-market models that strengthen customer value, market coverage and commercial efficiency.
- Lead regional approaches for customer and channel segmentation, targeting, account prioritization, lead generation and route-to-market optimization.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and country leadership teams to align commercial resources and engagement models with the most attractive customers, channels and growth opportunities.
- Enable countries to evaluate alternative models, share best practices and make deliberate choices on where to invest for sustainable growth.
- Commercial Policy Design
- Lead the design, review and continuous improvement of commercial policy frameworks and execution standards across the region.
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, Credit, Legal and country leadership teams to ensure policies support strategic objectives, customer needs, effective risk management and appropriate controls.
- Establish a structured and inclusive policy review process, ensuring relevant stakeholders contribute to policy decisions and implementation guidance.
- Guide countries in adapting regional principles to local market requirements while promoting consistency, transparency and the exchange of best practices.
- Support the communication, implementation and periodic assessment of commercial policies to ensure they remain practical, understood and effective.
Experience and Qualifications
- Significant experience in sales effectiveness, commercial excellence, sales leadership, business transformation or a related discipline within a complex, multi-country organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-country programs and influencing senior commercial stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
- Strong understanding of sales force effectiveness, territory planning, segmentation, activity planning, incentive design, capability development and commercial performance management.
- Experience deploying CRM, analytics, sales enablement or other commercial technology platforms, including change management and adoption.
- Strong analytical and business problem-solving capability, with the ability to convert insights into practical commercial actions.
- Experience in agriculture, seeds, crop protection or another market with complex routes to market is strongly preferred.
- Fluent English and the ability to operate effectively across cultures, functions and geographies; additional languages are an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, economics, data analytics or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage.
