Vylor is seeking an Ecotoxicology Intern to join our summer internship program. Duration of the internship is 6 months starting in May 2027.
The Ecotoxicology and Safety Assessment Laboratory (ESAL) within Regulatory & Stewardship supports environmental safety characterization of candidate products through laboratory studies conducted under Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). As an ESAL Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in non-target organism testing, explore both in-vitro and in-vivo testing approaches, and contribute to the development of new laboratory capabilities and methodologies.
What you''ll do:
- Explore and optimize cell line maintenance procedures and phenotypic assays.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate in-vitro cellular testing and its relationship to in-vivo non-target organism testing.
- Research potential opportunities to expand in-vivo testing capabilities.
- Assist in the development and refinement of invertebrate laboratory bioassay methodologies.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and records in compliance with EPA Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Support laboratory capability expansion projects and other ESAL initiatives as assigned.
What Skills You Need:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in entomology, microbiology, biology, biotechnology, or a related scientific field.
- Experience with cell line maintenance and cellular testing is preferred.
- Experience with invertebrate laboratory bioassays is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record-keeping ability.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
