About the Opportunity
Victoria Trail Farms Ltd. and Redi-Go Enterprises Ltd. are seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Class 3 Driver to join our team based out of the Smoky Lake area.
This is a unique, diverse position that perfectly bridges progressive grain farming, bulk propane delivery, and hands-on equipment operation. If you love variety, working outdoors, and want a stable, local driving career, this role is for you.
You will run our well-maintained company fleet and equipment, and you will be home every single night.
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual who takes pride in safe driving and excellent customer service. As the face of our bulk propane delivery to local residential, commercial, and agricultural clients, your friendly attitude will help build lasting community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Propane Delivery & Driving: Safely operate a Class 3 commercial propane truck to deliver bulk fuel efficiently to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers.
- Customer Relations: Actively represent our company values, identify client needs, and maintain strong, friendly customer relationships during deliveries.
- Farm & Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of equipment including tractors, combines, grain trucks, skid steers, picker trucks, and loaders during critical agricultural windows.
- Maintenance & Shop Work: Perform preventative maintenance, pre/post-trip inspections, and minor mechanical repairs on trucks, trailers, farm machinery, and propane equipment. Assist with general yard, shop, and building maintenance.
- Compliance & Logistics: Maintain accurate delivery records, trip logs, and regulatory paperwork. Strictly follow all Alberta transportation, TDG, and workplace safety regulations.
- Seasonal Flexibility: Work independently and collaboratively within a small, team-oriented operation. Be willing to accommodate extended hours during peak seasons (seeding, harvest, and peak winter propane demand).
Core Qualifications (Required)
- Valid Alberta Class 3 Driver’s Licence (or higher) with an air brake (Q) endorsement.
- Clean Commercial Driver’s Abstract (satisfactory to company insurance requirements).
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to troubleshoot and handle minor repairs independently.
- Customer-Facing Skills: A friendly, outgoing personality with excellent verbal communication and community-building skills.
- Reliability: A rock-solid work ethic, dedication to safety, and a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
Preferred Assets (Highly Valued)
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s Licence (highly preferred for hauling grain and heavy equipment transport).
- Experience in grain farming or rural agricultural operations.
- Previous experience hauling bulk propane, fuel, or dangerous goods.
- Active TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), H2S and WHMIS certification.
- Experience operating skid steers, loaders, tractors, combines, or other heavy machinery.
- Basic welding, fabrication, or advanced mechanical repair experience.
