Under supervision, the Production Team Member performs a variety of tasks throughout the production process to support the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of products. Responsibilities may include handling raw and finished products, operating equipment, packaging, labeling, inspecting products, and maintaining production areas.
The Production Team Member is responsible for following established production procedures, ensuring product quality, maintaining productivity standards, and adhering to all company safety, sanitation, quality control (TQC), and USDA requirements. This role requires flexibility to work in different production areas as needed and contribute to overall operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely handle products, materials, and equipment throughout the production process
Perform production, packaging, labeling, and material handling tasks as assigned
Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company standards
Record and document production information, weights, or inventory data as required
Ensure products are correctly packaged, labeled, and placed in appropriate containers
Report quality, safety, equipment, or production concerns to the supervisor
Transport products and materials between production areas as needed
Maintain adequate supplies of packaging and production materials
Verify product identification, labels, and specifications for Leidy's and private-label products
Maintain established production rates and productivity standards
Follow all food safety, sanitation, quality control, and workplace safety procedures
Assist with housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized work environment
Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently, following established procedures
Support team members and perform other production-related duties as assigned
Help ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
Ability to distinguish between products, private-label products, and specialty pork cuts
Basic math skills
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 70 pounds
Operate equipment and work around moving machinery
Stand for 8 to 10 hours per shift
Fine motor skills (pinching, gripping, etc.)
Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, reach, stand, walk, and climb
Ability to work in varying temperature conditions
