Environmental, Safety & Health – Intern

The Wenger Group internships offer students a unique exposure to many facets of technology and its relationship with agriculture.  The Wenger Group tailors the internship to meet both the student and company objectives for a mutually beneficial experience.  This position is ideal for a college student studying in the field of flock services to meet both student and company objectives for a mutually beneficial experience.

What will you do:

  • Ensure adherence to Wenger policies, methods, and disciplines.
  •  Perform safety audits at different facilities.
  • Assist with maintaining training materials/records and distribution as needed.
  • Assist with integrating policies and procedures for new acquisitions.
  • Learn and understand our Safety Video platform and serves as backup for distribution of videos.
  • Train and learn the Safety Incentive Program.
  • Assist with safety committee meetings (scheduling/minutes/presentations)
  • Conduct training and/or inspections at any Wenger Group facility.
  • Collect and Maintain, safety documentation and paperwork as needed.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets database, responsible for entry into Laserfiche.
  • Learn process(s) involved in Arc Flash PPE testing/inspection.
  • Ensure filing systems are maintained and current
  • Perform any required scanning, coding, document uploading, or database entry as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Who are you:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program
  • 1-2 years of safety experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Motivated self-starter with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to set priorities with strong organizational & follow-up skills; Well-organized & detail-oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Safety knowledge a plus
  • Open to continued education in safety process/certification as deemed necessary by management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with cross-departmental collaboration
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

Perform any and all additional tasks given by management in safe efficient manner
