About the Role

The Biosecurity Manager supports employee safety and herd health throughout HANOR's Wean to Market operations. Working with Veterinary Services and Operations, this role evaluates farm practices, develops practical biosecurity standards, provides bilingual training, and follows up on corrective actions. The position provides technical guidance and has no direct reports.

Reports To: Senior Manager, Veterinary Services Iowa

Position Highlights

• Full-time, exempt position based in Iowa
• Regular travel to Iowa farms; occasional out-of-state travel
• Company vehicle provided for business travel

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct farm visits and evaluate biosecurity, employee safety, and transportation sanitation practices.
• Develop and update biosecurity procedures with Veterinary Services and Operations.
• Train employees and contracted growers in English and Spanish; reinforce safe work practices.
• Investigate suspected biosecurity failures and recommend practical improvements.
• Document evaluations, training, and corrective actions; report trends and follow-up status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience and training.
• Practical knowledge of pigs, swine production, and farm routines required; one year of swine production experience preferred.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to evaluate and improve biosecurity practices.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet HANOR driving requirements; Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
