POSITION DESCRIPTION

Feedyard Services Manager

 

Location: Texas Cattle Feeders Association office, 5501 I-40 West, Amarillo, Texas 79106

 

Company Overview: Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) is a non-profit organization that represents the cattle feeding industry in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Known as Cattle Feeding Country, this area is the largest cattle feeding region in America and annually markets more than 25% of the nation's fed cattle.

 

Position: Full-time Feedyard Services Manager

 

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Director of Feedyard Services

 

Basic Function:  To assist with implementation and maintenance of feedyard services and quality assurance programs.

 

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Systems Management, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Animal Science, Environmental Engineering or Science, Soil and Crop Sciences, or related degree, with five or more years of work experience and agriculture background are preferred.

 

Salary: Based on education, credentials and experience

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to implement the Feedyard Services programs.
  • Provide support to the Director of Feedyard Services on regulatory issues.
  • Coordinate implementation of the TCFA Environmental Services Program, including scheduling in coordination with other staff, conducting inspections and reports, sampling, permitting, updating Nutrient Management Plans and preparing regulatory agency reports.
  • Coordinate implementation of the TCFA Beef Quality Assurance Program, including scheduling in coordination with other staff and conducting audits and preparing audit reports.
  • Update and improve reference books — Pollution Prevention Plans and Beef Quality Assurance Notebook.
  • Assist feedyards with development of special regulatory programs and technical assistance as needed.
  • Assist feedyards with development of Secure Beef Supply Plans, in coordination with veterinarian faculty and students.
  • Assist with educational programs and seminars hosted by TCFA.
  • Assist other staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
