POSITION DESCRIPTION

Executive Assistant

 

Location: Texas Cattle Feeders Association office, 5501 I-40 West, Amarillo, Texas 79106

 

Company Overview: Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) is a non-profit organization that represents the cattle feeding industry in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Known as Cattle Feeding Country, this area is the largest cattle feeding region in America and annually markets more than 25% of the nation's fed cattle.

 

Position: Full-time Executive Assistant

 

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the President & CEO

 

Basic Function:  To assist the President & CEO and Association leadership with initiating and expediting activities and support Association programs and services.

 

Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree with five or more years of work experience and agriculture background are preferred.

 

Salary: Based on education, credentials and experience

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist the President & CEO with visitors, correspondence, telephone calls, travel arrangements and itineraries, reports, financial matters and personnel.
  • Assist the President & CEO with meetings (schedules, content and conduct); communication with TCFA officers, directors and with other associations.
  • Coordinate Officer and Board of Directors activities—correspondence, itineraries, meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, congressional visits and other commitments.
  • Beef-PAC: Serve as Secretary-Treasurer. Develop and execute annual plan—strategy and materials. Supervise PAC recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Leadership Program—Coordinate selection and arrangements.
  • Education Foundation—Coordinate collegiate scholarship applications and awards.
  • Government Relations—Support legislative and regulatory activities, such as D.C. legislative fly-ins, Cattlemen at the Capitol and Texas Agricultural Council.
  • Monitor federal and state regulatory publications for applicable regulations.
  • Handle civic contributions, donations and memorials for Association.
  • Arbitration Program—Answer member inquiries and coordinate proceedings.
  • Identify news items for weekly NEWSLETTER.
  • Assist with development, review and revision of Association publications.
  • Assist other staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
