At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are seeking a Senior Scientist, Disease Resistance Traits to express trait proteins and characterize their resistance efficacy and agronomic performance to guide project development. This scientist will play an important role in Disease Control Trait advancing important traits in R&D pipeline to commercial launches.
Maintain and refresh expert knowledge of crop pathology and germplasm to discern the usefulness of line and hybrids across environments and genetics
Ensure cross collaboration to maintain a strong pipeline aligned with market need, global regulatory requirements, and Syngenta strategic targets
Facilitate internalization and use of technologies such as molecular markers and advanced phenotyping techniques in both and greenhouse and field environments
Establish solid relationships with breeding and trait development teams, connecting R&D activities and aligning with trialing and marketing teams
Measure, document, and summarize field performance and resistance efficacy from trials, providing key observations and recommendations on product performance
Phd in plant molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, or related fields
4+ years of hands-on experience applying cutting edge molecular pathology, genetics and omics technologies to identify genes and improve gene performance in disease resistance and agronomy
Expertise in molecular pathology & crop genetics, particularly within Soybeans
Individual must be authorized to work in the United States for Syngenta without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
