Syngenta is looking for an experienced Senior Process Development Developer to serve a key role in increasing digital toolbox and enhancing scientific innovation via informatics tool development in the Pipeline, Enablement, and Technology function. This candidate will work cross-functionally with scientists, stakeholders and IT; drive digital tool prototyping to enhance high throughput informatics pipeline and data analytics platform. The candidate will implement new workflows or changes existing workflows in the advanced seed product development pipeline.
The main purpose of this role is to apply digital technologies to revolutionize scientific and laboratory processes for prototyping and transforming the HTP GM and GE pipeline operation Leverage the digital technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence, analytics and cloud, in combination with LIMS, ELN, and other data systems to deliver analysis cascades faster, more efficient and more effective than ever before Drive digital tool prototyping starting from analysis/requirement gathering to designing, development, QA testing and validation, and integration Actively collaborate with lab researchers, to evaluate options to streamline operation by applying digital tools to better capture, manage, integrate and analyze complex scientific data Champion data management and visualization working with Bioinformatics and RDIT Lead the lab process improvement from reengineering, enhancements and upgrades, to maintenance and monitoring Serve as a liaison to communicate between researchers and informatics experts and RDIT to enhance process development and integration
Bachelors or Master’s in computer science, Bioinformatics or Ein an applicable field with 3+ year’s experience or equivalent work experience. 3+ years working in a technical role in IT as a software engineer or LIMS developer Experience supporting, configuring, and customizing programming and system architecture Demonstrated understanding of LIMS/ELN, lab instrumentation, and automation APIs Proven ability in building new application prototype and functionality, inter-operable with existing applications and infrastructure Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience in a high throughput laboratory environment Ability and motivation to learn new technologies. Ability to work well in a team and to communicate with individuals throughout the organization and across the businesses Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Experience working with global teams
Working knowledge in data science and machine learning Experience in Data visualization tool development Experience in bioinformatics Experience with the Benchling ELN Experience in Biotech industry
