To support that challenge, the Seeds Production and Supply Team is currently seeking a Seeds Processing Technician in Amboy, MN.
You will help shape the future of agriculture by:
Producing a reliable supply of high-quality seed by executing production plant tasks assigned by Plant Management. Organize, perform, and lead in assigned departments to ensure all required processes, procedures and production requirements are met. Position will take on several roles based upon field production practices, plant processing requirements and distribution needs. Manage field operations, seed receiving, and conditioning equipment operations to ensure that all seed is properly handled and conditioned so the highest quality seed will be packaged to meet sale demands.
Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines Participate in all HSE programs and promote a safety driven culture Supervise employees and third-party personnel as required Balance competing priorities to meet the annual plant production goals Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated, routinely inspected, and maintained Coordinate the delivery of product to the site with producers and drivers Operate and adjust seed cleaning equipment Track and monitor product quality and adjust throughout process Support Agronomists in field and parent seed related activities as directed Ensure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixture
High School Diploma or GED required 2 or more years of seed industry / agricultural experience Knowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office, MS Databases and Spreadsheets, and SAP Ability to work positively and effectively with outside vendors/agencies and internal personnel and departments Ability to work in a variety of environments, such as high or low temperatures, confined spaces, awkward spaces, and heights with safety devices Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
Associate degree in agronomy or related plant science, Ag. Business is preferred but not required An Agricultural background is highly preferred Ability and willingness to receive a chemical applicators license Forklift Certified, or the ability and willingness to obtain. Supervision of employees experience preferred but not necessary
