of our planet. To support that challenge, the Seeds Research and Development
team is currently seeking a Seeds Field Analytics Head located in Research
Triangle Park, Raleigh, North Carolina. As the Field Analytics Head for Seeds
you will build and manage industry-leading statistical, experimental design and
biometrics capabilities for Syngenta Seeds Research and Development.

will help shape the future of agriculture by:

  • Enabling
    data-driven decision making and prescriptive design of seeds products
  • Enhancing
    design and analysis of field and controlled environment trials
  • Building
    forward-looking capabilities to help modernize trialing using phenomics and
    sensor data technologies together with advanced analytics
  • Maximize value of field and controlled
    environment trials for the product delivery pipeline by leading the
    development and utilization of advanced experimental design and data
    analysis methodologies
  • Drive standardization and global best
    practices for trialing experimental design protocols across crops
  • Provide strategic direction and global
    best practices for statistical analyses of trialing data across Seeds
  • Drive innovation in spatial analysis and
    genetics by environment characterization in partnership with genetics,
    modelling and data science teams
  • Build a forward-looking analytics strategy
    and capability to leverage phenomics and sensor data to assess crop
  • Enable data-driven decision making in crop
    teams by providing fit-for-purpose statistics support
  • Develop and sustain a highly engaged team
    of statistics, biometrics, and phenomics analytics experts, and foster the
    growth of scientific and leadership talent
  • Build effective partnerships with IT,
    analytics and data science leaders, crop subject matter experts, and
    external experts to deliver robust data standards and computational tools
    for optimizing the use of trialing data
  • As a member of the Analytics & Data
    Sciences Leadership Team, contribute to the development and implementation
    of Seeds R&D computational science strategies and initiatives
  • Promote a safe work environment and a
    strong safety culture

  • Skills:

    • Ph.D.
      degree or equivalent in Statistics, Biometrics, Quantitative Genetics or
      related field
    • 10+
      years of experience with experimental design and analysis of field trial data
      in a breeding pipeline
    • Proven
      scientific and people leadership experience
    • Experience partnering with an IT
      organization to develop and support software applications
    • Experience in change leadership
    • Visa sponsorship is not available for this
    Preferred Requirements
    • Technical
      knowledge in statistics, biometrics, experimental design, and spatial analysis
    • Technical
      knowledge in plant breeding and field trialing
    • Understanding
      of people leadership and development
    • Project and portfolio management knowledge
      in the context of a matrixed, cross-disciplinary organization
    • Understanding of current trends and issues
      in agriculture R&D
    • Strong
      leadership, stakeholder management, communication, networking, influencing
      and conflict management skills
    • Ability
      to build, motivate and lead a highly innovative and engaged team
