To support that challenge, the Corn Seed Production and Operations Team is currently seeking a Seed Corn Production Technician in Lone Tree, IA.

In the Agricultural Industry there will be extended working hours during time sensitive periods of the year. This is where the collaboration comes in. Every member of our team pitches in to help out in all areas to ensure that all seed is properly handled and tested so the highest quality seed will be packaged to meet sale demands. During these times, you may be requested to assist in any of the following areas; Laboratory Production, Plant Operations, Seed receiving, Harvest Operations, and Field Agronomy activities.

 

Accountabilities

    Foster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelines Assist in presentation of all safety training classes Oversee employees and third party personnel as required Balance KPI’s to meet the annual improvement objectives Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and routinely inspected All seed picked and transported to specified area is identified accurately and checked against production order Fill all orders per production order instructions Conduct Product Simulation PS testing, internal field audit and quality checks Coordinate field inspection program and self-certification requirements Track and monitor potential quality lots through disposition of product Responsible for product quality assessments and adherence to product specifications During growing season will be assigned production area to monitor seed quality through field inspections and record keeping Support Agronomists in field related activities as directed Pooling and distribution of parent seed to grower base Planting of seed production fields and parent seed returns Assist with field mapping and isolation documentation requirements Accurate and timely SAP and Data collection entry during the field productions season Ensure all clean-downs and changeovers are done correctly to eliminate any product mixture

 

Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED required Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required. Ability and willingness to work OT as needed to meet demand Forklift Certified, or the ability and willingness to obtain. Knowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office, MS Databases and Spreadsheets, and SAP Ability to work positively and effectively with outside vendors/agencies and internal personnel and departments Experience in inventory, distribution processes and/or managing quality transactional data in SAP Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

    Associate degree in agronomy or related plant science, Ag. Business is preferred but not required An Agricultural background is highly preferred Ability and willingness to obtain a chemical applicators license Minimum 2 years of seed industry experience preferred
