About Us


Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We are currently seeking a Scientist I for our Traits Discovery team in Research Triangle Park, NC.


Role purpose

    This position will lead scientific research and conduct experiments primarily in the area of protein biochemistry, with a strong focus on manipulating proteins and characterizing their binding to cognate receptors Support the adoption and development of technologies to advance functional capabilities in the areas of protein characterization and protein-protein interactions Synthesize results and clearly communicate progress and challenges to varied audiences To be an active member of the Input Traits Discovery group contributing to group innovation and troubleshooting across disciplines Significantly contribute to the identification and development of the next generation of crop protection products


    Deliver reproduceable results to the function or project in a timely manner Drive innovation and evaluate new research ideas Develop new processes, methods, and or protocols and ensure their appropriate validation and wider implementation Design, plan, carry out, and interpret experiments alone or in collaboration with other scientists Conduct research in accordance with or exceeding all relevant HSE guidelines Contribute to a congenial group environment, fostering scientific rigor, safety, and inclusion Communicate clearly and effectively


    Minimum qualifications of MS degree with 1+ year’s or BS degree with 3+ years relevant experience in the field of Biochemistry or directly related areas.  Knowledge of protein science, especially in the area of protein-protein interactions and analytical techniques for characterization Significant experience in producing proteins followed by their characterization For example, with respect to their activity, stability, and solubility Must be able to work proficiently in a team-based, project-focused, and changing environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred Requirements

    Knowledge of the employment of proteins within an agricultural or entomological context is a plus Expertise designing and safely conducting experiments utilizing radiolabelled proteins is a plus Expertise in measuring and evaluating the technical parameters of protein-protein binding events e.g., binding kinetics Expertise in utilizing fluorescent methods for protein characterization
