The St Gabriel Site is currently looking to fill multiple Production Efficiency Engineering positions with various experience to grow our team for future success. 

 

As the Production Efficiency Engineer, you will be responsible for the day to day engineering of one of the production units within the Active Ingredients AI Business Unit at the St. Gabriel site. You will be responsible for assisting AI Unit Superintendents in meeting production targets necessary to meet volumes and customer requirements by identifying efficiency improvement opportunities through data mining from multiple sources including historical process data, daily white board issues, and daily interactions with operations personnel. You will identify bottlenecks that can be modified to create a step change in Overall Equipment Effectiveness OEE.   Support unit through real time production reporting, product quality control, yield and raw material efficiency monitoring. Support environmental improvements, reporting and calculation needs.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responsible for OEE and Continuous Improvement Efforts within an AI Production unit. Assist in development and maintenance of operational procedures, safety critical limits, and quality parameter limits. Support of month-end accounting closure for consumption of raw materials and energy. Support unit through real time production reporting, yield and raw material efficiency monitoring. Support environmental improvements, reporting and calculation with regards to permitting and release reporting. Support unit operations in incident investigations related to production processes. Lead and Maintain a list of productivity/cost savings projects in unit of responsibility. Works closely with Unit personnel to improve unit efficiency and overall cost effectiveness. Assist/Backup other production efficiency engineers in other units.


Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. 2 – 10+ years of experience in a chemical or manufacturing setting as Production or Process Engineer.  Working knowledge of OEE and plant reliability. Demonstrated understanding of best engineering practices and the application of RAGAGEPs to assets and processes.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:

    Strong personal accountability.     Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Ability to communicate at multiple levels throughout the site organization. Have a high level of ownership in making a measurable positive impact to plant performance and Syngenta profitability. Demonstrated ability to develops plans to attain targets. Be a team player in a team environment.  Be a self-starter and self-motivator. Have good computer skills including Microsoft suite. Working knowledge of Pi or other Data Historian and ability to design and interpret trends. Experience with both continuous and batch chemical production processes and technology Six Sigma Black belt or Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
