To support that challenge, the Production & Supply team is currently seeking an MMU Unit Superintendent, at our St. Gabriel, LA site.


As the MMU Unit Superintendent, you will manage a Multiple Process Formulation Production unit at the St. Gabriel site. You will be responsible for meeting production targets necessary to meet target volumes and customer requirements. You will ensure that the production unit operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this highly visible role, you will interact with Senior Leadership, Supply Chain, Commercial and other functions to set and meet production requirements.



    Ensure strong safety, environmental, and reliable performance of the operating area Assure quality products, on time, for Syngenta customers worldwide Manage financial activities budgeting, product costing, forecasting, resource planning Monthly fixed and variable cost variance analysis and latest outlook reconciled to latest supply plan. Product costing validation; asset work center utilization and capacity management Manage the production shifts, supervisors, and engineer tasking within the operating areas Develop a strong production organization to meet challenging production and financial goals; focus on training, coaching, and personnel development. Champion Operational Excellence program at the unit level and within peer group Embrace new ideas and be able to motivate the team to transfer them into practice through a strong continuous improvement program Understand production requirements and adapt to and/or make changes or develop solutions to ensure targets are met without sacrificing safety, reliability, or quality Actively network with Procurement, suppliers and regional or global Formulation Development colleagues to influence the availability of low-cost, registered, raw materials for production Ensure the production unit operates safely, meeting all license to operate requirements Support Global Supply Chain by working with product managers and planners to supply products for the Crop Protection business as required Develop unit personnel by challenging, training, coaching, teaching, and managing performance


    Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related field preferred A minimum of 5-10 years of experience managing a complex production unit i.e. Managing Supervisors Knowledge of regulatory requirements necessary to operate unit Demonstrated understanding of best engineering practices and the application of RAGAGEPs to assets and processes Strong background in Engineering with some interdisciplinary or cross functional experience preferred Experience in motivating teams to meet challenging goals
