As Syngenta’s Lead Architect, IT Commercial Platforms, you will:
Lead the IT commercial enterprise architects’ group. Be accountable to provide the best technical architecture and solution frameworks that cover our end to end commercial needs, from a technology point of view, and aligned with business end to end process view, and focus on achieving the strategic objectives being able to match the technical expertise with the understanding of the business need is a key success factor. Be innovative, bring new solutions, new technologies, think out of the box. Focus on reusability, integration, security, scalability understanding at the same time flexibility and the specificities of some needs. Team player, being a part of an IT & Digital ecosystem on the service of the business, being collaborative with other technical and business teams and focused on the end business goal and end result. Lead the team, motivate, develop, retain, attract and promote them to different levels and different teams. Lead and drive technology while understanding business and focused on impact. Build partnership with global and regional business and IT stakeholders to understand the commercial roadmap; collaborate, communicate, and influence the stakeholders with the architecture vision for commercial platforms. Capture and document the as-is process and establish the to-be process and the enterprise architecture roadmap on the commercial functions market, sell, service, eCommerce. Define the system architecture landscape by identifying the gaps between the current and the desired end states and deliver comprehensive solutions that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes in a scalable way. Identify, assess, and evaluate the latest emerging technologies and trends, promoting the approach of hybrid cloud integration to deliver highly secure, robust, and scalable solutions. Design, document, review, maintain, and promote architecture standards applicable to a hybrid cloud environment leveraging various platforms and technology stacks, establishing architecture, governance, and operational guidelines to effectively manage business and technical challenges. Provide architectural domain expertise to create, migrate, and integrate modularized architectures and proven delivery methodologies across IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, serverless compute, message, and event-driven platforms. Work with the global and regional leads in assessment, planning, and design phases of projects’ lifecycles to support the overall alignment and adherence to IT standards and processes, adoption of architecture practices, and the overarching IT strategy that supports the corporate mission. Implement architecture designs & frameworks to support business processes that can scale large volume of transactions and data at a regional and global scale.
At least two architect certifications in any of the modern cloud stack of which one must be Salesforce. A bachelor’s degree or master’s in computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Excellent knowledge on identity and access management systems, including SSO, authentication, authorization, and standards.
Overall experience of 15+ years in architecture either as a technical, solution or integration architect in any domain / technology stack and 5+ years of experience in leading teams. At least 3+ years of experience as enterprise architect and 3+ years of architect experience in Salesforce. Experience in cloud architecture, application, and integration design specifically with hybrid cloud/ground such as SAP, AWS, Salesforce, etc. Strong experience in salesforce architecture.
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
Proficiency in articulating enterprise level cloud-native and hybrid cloud architectures and design frameworks as well as the ability to define such design patterns to scale across region and globally. Experience in programming and scripting languages, particularly building APIs, interfaces, and other integration frameworks using synchronous and asynchronous messaging and other mechanisms. Strong experience with release management process, CI/CD pipelines and applying secure coding standards in an enterprise environment. Ability to listen, empathize and translate business needs into IT plans. Good understanding of order management systems and the integration with Digital Marketing, Pricing, Back-end OM, Finance, Supply Chain and Custom Services. Excellent presentation and written communication skills.

Experience in leading implementation teams to design enterprise cloud applications in hybrid cloud environments, including infrastructure, integration, solution, security, governance, and enterprise architecture considerations. Excellence in network building, stakeholder management and influencing skills, gaining trust while managing conflict. Strong sense of integrity.

Complex system landscape, global, regional, country and commercial unit level. Different markets need different solutions, as customer and go to market is also different. Salesforce.com core CRM must evolve but fully stable to our business usage being a core commercial system. Constant grow of solutions and business needs, which constantly drive new technology needs and new integrations with other systems maintained inside or outside our team’s responsibility.
