About this Job:The
Delivery Lead will manage a business vertical within Seeds R&D IT that
encompasses a suite of tools and capabilities that supports one or more
business function(s). The role:


  • Is
    accountable for all R&D IT products end to end that fall under the
    vertical design, build, grow and
    maintain
  • Will
    partner strongly with R&D matching function(s) to ensure sound
    understanding of business priorities and set annual delivery priorities keeping
    focus on investment objectives, priorities and capabilities
  • Will
    lead the products transformation by managing a highly skilled IT team with
    different skill sets
  • Will
    coordinate access to required capabilities in IT, Digital and through
    collaborations to optimize the efficiency of the investment
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:


  • Engage
    with stakeholders from the R&D function for the business vertical they
    manage
  • Work
    in partnership with R&D function, to build a technology roadmap for R&D
    IT products aligned with the business needs for the vertical
  • Accountable
    for the delivery against that technology roadmap as well as reporting against
    key milestones and deliverables within the allocated budget
  • Build
    an effective approach to delivery with the delivery team ensuring focus,
    agility and continuity of a multi-disciplinary global team. (R&D, R&D IT and external resources)
  • Promotes
    the use of best practices throughout the portfolio definition and delivery
    cycles
  • Partner
    with architects to determine best approach for grouping / decoupling /
    separating needed capabilities into products
  • Work
    with Syngenta supplier/partner network to optimize their contribution to the
    delivery
  • Provide
    oversight to the Domain Head about the current health of the vertical
    applications, projects, operations and budget
  • Create a high
    performance environment for the delivery team to find effective and creative
    ways to address the business challenges



Skills:

Education &
Experience:


  • 5+
    years of practical work experience and ideally with a scientific education in
    the respective vertical area
  • 5+ years IT experience with delivery
    of projects and/or operations; ideally with some work experience in the respective vertical area
  • Sound
    understanding of portfolio management; ideally 2+ years
  • Strong
    understanding of emerging IT technologies
  • Good
    understanding of Research Computing processes and scientific computing
  • Proven
    experience in delivering projects and leading delivery teams
  • Hands
    on experience in using the range of agile project management methodologies

    indirect reports

    of defining product roadmap in cooperation with key stakeholders and presenting
    business value to leadership teams
