To support that challenge, we are currently seeking an IPM Integrated Pest Management Grower Manager in Alva, FL. As an IPM Grower Manager you will be Responsible for the implementation and management of the Integrated Pest Management Systems. Ensuring that all processes and procedures meet and or exceed all regulatory requirements and that they are conducted in a safe and effective manner. Execute all outlined IPM procedures to ensure the highest quality cuttings that meet our customers’ requirements for the products and or crops produced at the Alva site.

 

Accountabilities

    Ensure that all Scouting, Spraying, Fumigation and Growing processes and procedures are executed in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Responsible for the management creation and modification of all Ways of Working. Ensuring that all procedures and processes are accurate and up to date and that they meet and or exceed all safety and regulatory requirements. Monitor and diagnosis the crops for insect and disease issues.  Respond in compliance with IPM and WPS practices. Manage all personnel, all processes and all programs associated with Scouting, Spraying and Fumigation. Maintain accurate records of pesticide including fumigation applications. Ensure that chemical inventory is accurate, and materials are stored and maintained in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Maintain all necessary documentation to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements. Manage and maintain all KPI’s. Ensure growing and IPM equipment is maintained in a manner that supports safe, efficient, and effective applications and they are calibrated correctly. Maintain procedures manuals and documentation for all processes. Be responsible for the establishment and management of the budget. In cooperation with HSES, ensure that all personnel have the appropriate training, PPE, and certifications for their roles. Maintain proper IPM personnel schedules with weeks in advance. Responsible to conduct different field trials to improve on current practices. Visually inspect the crops proactively.

 

Requirements

    BA/BS degree in agriculture recommended or equivalent job experience Proficient in Microsoft windows environment. Professional level Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge. Bilingual preferred Experience with crop growing and IPM systems and the implementation of those systems Experience in the management and implementation of standardized Horticulture processes Experience with the handling and application of pesticides, Bio-pesticides and be familiar with predatory control methods Experience in growing or planning in the agriculture field Anticipation of growing issues occurring on plants Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
