The purpose of this Environmental Engineer role is to provide technical support and maintain regulatory compliance with all state and federal air regulations and operating permits in support of key outcomes:
Environmental performance targets. Support operational needs in compliance with Air Operating Permits. Education of site personnel on air program requirements. Communication of regulatory air issues with internal and external stakeholders Achieve regulatory and corporate requirements, site and corporate procedure development, self-auditing and drive sustainable compliance. Engage and interface with regulatory agencies, prepare required documentation and reports. Review environmental regulations and determine applicability and strategic path forward. Obtain all necessary Environmental permits to enable the site’s growth projects to proceed as needed to meet its Business Plan. Network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Process Technology, Engineering, Maintenance and Training organizations. Develop and deliver environmental training. Provide technical support to Process Safety and Risk Analysis Teams/change management activities to foster continuous improvement.
Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Engineering or Sciences. 3-5 years of experience in air quality compliance within the chemical/petrochemical manufacturing facilities or refining preferred. Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities:
Must be able to communicate effectively with non-technical operations personnel regarding process operations, equipment, and procedures. Problem analysis, data mining, able to identify root cause issues for complicated process interactions. Goal oriented, resourceful, and self-driven. Manage and rank multiple priorities, manage stakeholder communication and expectation. Multifaceted approach to solving new and unfamiliar problems.
