Job Description:

The Crop Delivery Scientist will support and partner with the Crop Delivery Heads (CDH) to ensure that seed production, data generation, seed operations, logistics, and trialing activities for Seeds Research and Development (R&D) are performed according to defined standards.
Organization and structure is by the Corn, Soybean and Sunflower field crops.
Accountabilities
The Crop Delivery Specialist will provide insights and data to support decision-making and pipeline delivery management across geographies and provide and ensure alignment of the supply chain strategy and crops guidelines defined by CDH.

  • Gather, and transform the data needed to support operational decision-making processes, e.g., Demand Plans to support site allocation; Change requests; Site capacity usage and availability; Monitoring execution targets.
  • Monitor the progress against milestones and resource use, structuring the data to support the Crop Delivery Heads in making metric-based project decision processes across our portfolio?.
  • Support the creation of benchmarks to measure the pipeline execution between markets/regions over time and be a partner in developing scorecards and leading indicators of performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Identify, suggest, and discuss with Crop Delivery Heads mitigation actions to manage key risks in our pipeline to flag potential areas for increase of operational effectiveness
  • Propose and discuss business crop requirements to support the development of new solutions, the standardization, and creation of global best practices, protocols, and methodologies for optimal pipeline delivery ?
  • Act as a Project Manager whenever needed to manage pipeline delivery projects to increase the efficiency of our delivery by crop or across crops
  • Track and ensure that the Breeding Protocols and related documentation are updated to reflect the enhanced operational ways of delivering?

Qualifications

  • BSc degree with 3+ years of related working experience in breeding operations and data analysis and interpretation. 
  • Experience in working on seeds development planning, operations, or pipeline management on Field crops
  • Experience in driving global projects, with high dimensional data sets and databases, and deriving insights from such sources
  • Ability to work effectively across disciplines, cultures, and geographies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated skills with stakeholder management, communication, networking, and influencing skills
  • Proficient networking skills and ability to influence people
  • Working in an international environment, time flexibility is required due to the different time zones
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Preferred

  • Plant Breeding experience
  • Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI
  • Experience with Corn, Soybean, or Sunflower crops is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required, and Portuguese and Spanish are nice to have.
