Micro Lab Technician

Seneca Foods in Rochester, MN is currently seeking a Micro Lab Technician

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility: Sample collection and following aseptic techniques to ensure samples are collected, handled, and processed accurately
Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing and blending
Organizing samples for specific tests dependent of product code and customer requirements
Prepare media for various test methods and record quality check information
Responsible for proper disposal of hazards such as autoclaving
Tracking samples after they have been received and accepted for analysis, maintaining the identity and integrity of the sample throughout the testing process
Collecting samples and maintaining proper chain of custody
Maintain proper housekeeping
Maintain a safe working environment and takes precautions in preventing product and/or equipment damages and losses
Calibrates and operates lab testing equipment
Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process
Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Good communication skills.

Basic computer and mathematical skills.

Working knowledge of basic measuring devices and machines.

Ability to work well with others.

Physical Requirments:

Ability to lift 30 lbs or more, including up-stairs

Standing for extended period of time

Using hands for extended periods of time

Walking throughout the lab and production environment

Bending and kneeling
