The primary function of the Associate Accountant is to assist the Corporate Accounting group in preparing and maintaining necessary bank reconciliations for Scoular and its subsidiaries, booking journal entries in selected areas, applying and clearing all drafts presented for payment, processing payables, as well as sending out daily communications to the corporate accounting and the finance groups. As an Associate Accountant, you will:
- Timely and accurate tax compliance preparation to include compiling data and supporting documentation
- Perform tax research to assist in analyzing tax transactions and issues
- Gain experience with sales/use tax, property tax, incentive work, and grow into other areas of tax as you learn
- Assist in the planning and execution of operational, financial, and compliance audits
- Use data analytic tools to extract and analyze data to identify trends and potential issues
- Collaborate with risk owners and other business leaders to support the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management program
