Our Memphis, TN location refines and packages one of the United States most recognized brands of canola and vegetable cooking oils, Wesson.



Richardson Oilseed is one of Canadas oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with four facilities across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets.



Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Packaging Operator 1 at our Memphis, TN facility. The hourly wage for this position is $23.18 per hour.



Responsibilities:


  • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies, procedures, and rules, including proper use of personal protective equipment and hazard controls.
  • Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries or illnesses in accordance with company procedures.
  • Operate and monitor production and packaging equipment such as filler/capper, packer, palletizer, labeler, case erector, and de-palletizer, and assist with changeovers as needed.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot production line equipment and control systems to support efficient operations and keep processes within required parameters.
  • Ensure quality standards are met by collecting samples, performing visual inspections, documenting results, and completing logs and paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Support equipment reliability and plant standards through basic preventative maintenance, housekeeping, reporting malfunctions, and other assigned duties.


Qualifications:


  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed
  • Able to read, write, communicate effectively, and follow instructions
  • Able to work in a warm to hot environment
  • LEDS knowledge and experience in a high-speed industrial environment are assets
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, standing, and walking
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Must maintain a clean, safe work area, follow company policies and procedures, and have a high school diploma or GED
