Platypus Turf is a family-owned and operated, expanding farming business. Our operation is built on more than 15 years of turf farming experience, with a property itself being family-owned since 1904.

About the position

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Turf Farm Supervisor to join our team on a part-time basis with the potential for additional hours during busy periods. The role is approximately 30 hours per week to begin with.
While weekend work is not mandatory, occasional Saturday pick-ups may be required.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee turf production operations, including irrigation, mowing, spraying, fertilizing and harvesting.
- Manage and lead farm team.
- Deliver turf to customers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
- Manage turf quality to ensure a consistent, high-quality product
- Operate and maintain turf machinery including tractors, harvesters, semi-truck and forklift
- Implement efficient irrigation practices
- Stock management, including conducting and assisting with yard work
- Animal welfare, including assisting with stock observations
- Maintain workplace health and safety compliance

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience in farm management, turf production, agriculture, or a related field
- Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery and equipment
- Current drivers license 
- Current HC or MC licence with current NHVR logbook (Roadranger experience preferred)
- Good traffic history and safe driving practices are required
- Load restraint experience
- Strong people leadership and team management skills
- Comfortable completing work reports and basic record keeping
- Strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work well within a small team
