What you will do:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overall effective leadership and direction of the maintenance crew. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining the technical expertise of his crew employees, monitoring their skill sets and development of training plans. The Maintenance Supervisor must know and apply correct management, operations disciplines to maintain the sustainability and reliability of the integrated systems of people, materials, and equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to maintain the sustainability and reliability of all the plant systems and assures that the plant can meet business demands and schedules, for maximum profitability.
Meet with peers and subordinates to set schedule plans for the week and check daily progress
Administer group safety meetings and shop safety inspections
Influence manpower requirements and salary adjustment requests
Assist with controlling budget costs
Evaluate and recommend capital needs for their group
Evaluate quality standards for area maintenance responsibility
Direct and coordinate the orderly and efficient operations of Maintenance crews, under his supervision while carrying out duties as required by General Supervisor and higher management
Resolve problems relating to, or interfering with, meeting maintenance schedules
Analyze and assess methods of improving and reducing Maintenance operations expenses
Analyze personnel needs according to production flow and operations condition.
Communicate daily with General Supervisor and department engineer to stay abreast of work schedules, planning changes, and critical timing of major projects
Review and discuss discipline problems with General Supervisor
Generate, evaluate and review annual performance and improvement plan of assigned personnel
Provide training of personnel and monitor personnel performance
Communicate and support management goals and objectives to all employees
Must possess the strength and dexterity to personally inspect all areas of responsibility that may affect employee safety or environmental integrity
What you will bring:
The incumbent should have:
A high school diploma
Completed Maintenance Craft Program or similar certification
Solid background in all types of equipment such as pumps, turbines, gear boxes, blowers and bearings
Preferred Education and Experience
Technical Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred
2+ years Supervisory experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Successful completion of supervisory assessment
Adhere to Nutrien attendance policies
Competent or better rating on past 2 performance reviews
160 hours of upgrade to supervisor
