Located at our facility in Carseland, AB, this position is an exciting opportunity and will provide invaluable work experience in a growing company. This internship will begin May 2021 for a period of 16 weeks.
Reports to the Electrical/Instrumentation Supervisor at Carseland Nitrogen Operations.
What you will do:
Assist in the production and review of detailed Engineering packages for design of new and upgraded electrical equipment including equipment specification, sizing, wiring, and configuration design, ensuring production of all associated documentation
Provide support on the Electrical aspects of instrumentation and automation systems design and installation
Provide support for management of change (M.O.C.) on Electrical aspects
Provide trouble-shooting support to unit maintenance for equipment of all voltage levels
Motor Control Schematics record management
Panel schedules record management
Participate in development and review of electrical switching orders
Lead continuous improvement of Electrical systems technology and standards and the development of long-term maintenance plans
What you will bring:
Preference will be given to those that have successful completion of 1st year of an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma Program with confirmation of registration to complete the program in Fall 2021
Previous related work experience in an industrial setting is preferred
Available for overtime (extended hours and weekends)
Must be motivated and able to work in a team environment, exhibit strong decision-making and problem solving skills, and have sound written and verbal communication skills
