Reports to the Director, Financial Accounting.
What you will do:
    Act as the key Retail representative on assigned Nutrien consolidation project
  • Improve and drive efficiency in monthly close Retail & Nutrien
  • Ensure that Retail sub consolidation needs are met
  • Ensure that Retail consolidated reporting is achieved
  • Look for potential in inter-co improvements
  • Determine impact to current Retail ERPs across the geographies
  • Determine impact from MDG project
  • Enhance reporting capabilities
  • Manage team of fixed asset and lease accountantsOversee the day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, system processes, journal entries and account reconciliationsCoordinate lease accounting with international operationsOversee the completion of monthly fixed asset, lease reporting and financial analysisReview quarterly commentary and review of continuity schedules for external reportingOversight of information requests from external and internal auditorsSupervise coordination of fixed asset and lease verifications with Fleet DepartmentProvide data to Tax, FP&A and Finance departments to utilize in reporting, planning and analysisOversee coordinate with Mergers and Acquisition team to gather and capitalize acquired leasesPerform other duties and projects as assigned
What you will bring:
    A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a recognized institutionCPA or CMA is preferredPublic Accounting Experience from a Big 4 Firm/Smaller Regional Firm/Internal Audit BackgroundA minimum of 10 years’ experience in practical financial experience is requiredUnderstanding of IFRS & US GAAP rulesExperience with complex consolidationsDemonstrated leadership skills are requiredDemonstrated analytical skills are requiredHighly detail orientedSelf-MotivatedStrong analytical, interpersonal and communication skillsStrong integrity and business ethicsAbility to lead by example and work well with others
