Reporting to the Supervisor, Fort Dodge Terminal, the operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the terminal.
What you will do:
    Weigh in-bound and out-bound shipmentsProvide quality customer serviceEnter data into multiple computer databases and excel spreadsheetsGenerate scale ticketsCommunicate via 2-way radioMaintain accurate record keeping yard activities and visitorsEnsure truck drivers/Visitors have correct PPEAccurately communicate material to be loadedTake charge of the scale area to direct customers and truck driversAnswer telephoneComplete interior and exterior housekeeping and maintenance in designated safe zones, which could include:
      Office CleaningPaintingSweepingRemoval of trash
    Operate a wide variety of equipment, frontend loader, skid steer, forklift, tractor, lawn mower, various hand tools and performs rigging and stagingPerform maintenance activities that include predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of plant equipment to provide consistently high levels of plant reliability and productionFollow safe work practices and immediately identifies hazards and recommends and/or implements repairs
What you will bring:
    A valid driver's license and a clean DMV recordMust be able to lift 50 poundsMust be a team player and be willing to learn all areasPreferred 3-5 years’ experience working with conveyors (belts/chains), pumps, compressors, rollers, rotating assemblies, hydraulic power units (HPU’s), and gear reducersPreferred 3-5 years’ experience with heavy equipment operation such as a frontend loader, skid steer, forklift and tractorWelding certification is a plusStrong mechanical and maintenance skillsStrong troubleshooting and repair skillsMust be proficient with Windows Microsoft applicationsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to demonstrate the fundamentals of metal welding and cutting techniquesAbility to wear a hard hat entire shiftAbility to work some over time during busy season
