Reporting to the Loadout Supervisor and the Loadout Team Lead Hand, the Loadout Technician is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable operation of Ammonia Loading (Offloading), Dry Product Loading, and general Railyard & Storage Operation. The Loadout Technician will be responsible for equipment monitoring and the preparation of equipment for Maintenance. The Loadout Technician will be responsible for strict adherence to both Provincial and Federal Transport Regulation (and where applicable, International Regulation).
What you will do:
  • Independently manage Railyard Operation to carry out loading, scheduling, in and outbound rail traffic, identify and defer defective equipment for servicing as well as sealing and accounting of loading/offloading of railcars into management tools
  • Operate equipment in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures as well as effectively maintain, revise & create Standard Operating Procedures
  • Safe permitting of various maintenance activities as well as isolation and preparation of equipment for maintenance
  • Ensure safe delivery of product in a timely manner
  • Effectively manage traffic onsite to facilitate safe loading & reduce congestion
  • Delivery of product to storage and distribution with minimal effect to Process Operations
  • Arrange for product management requirements on off hours
  • Communicate product quality to proactively address product concerns
  • Completion of maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operation
  • Direct Railyard Operations and Logistics with our Service Provider CP
  • Ensure zero disruption of service, minimal switching requirements, effective delivery and receiving of equipment while upholding site security standards
  • Operate mobile equipment safely
  • Perform routine duties including minor maintenance, housekeeping and equipment clearing
  • Perform work outside in all conditions (wind, rain, snow, cold and hot weather)
What you will bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Heavy Equipment Certification or Power Engineering Certificate 4th class consider an asset
  • Capable of performing physically active duties on a routine basis
  • Ability to work both independently, in a team environment and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Motivation with an enthusiasm for continuous learning
  • Capable of operating heavy equipment including front end loader, rail car mover, forklift & skid steer
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook required
  • Demonstrated experience in a Process Operation or Terminal preferred
  • Knowledge of Provincial, Interprovincial or International Transport Regulation an asset
