The Ground Control Engineer will report to the Chief Mine Engineer.
What you will do:
  • Lead a broad variety of underground mining projects in support of potash mining operations
  • In field ground condition assessments and ground support plansTrial and implement new geotechnical control techniquesGround monitoring instrumentationProject management of underground rehabilitation projects
  • Provide technical support to mine design changes
  • Mining research, data collection, analysis and reporting
What you will bring:
    A Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university, with minimum 2 years of ground control/rock mechanics experienceEligible for professional designation (P. Geo., P. Eng., or both)Must have good technical knowledge of mining as well as good understanding of mining operationsPreference will be given to candidates with potash mining experience Demonstrate positive safety behavior and safety leadershipPossess strong leadership skillsSuperior interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are essentialSuperior technical ability and analytic skills
  • Strong computer skills are required, including the use of Microsoft Office as well as drafting experience
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independentlyWillingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through trainingExperience with modern geographic information systems is an asset
