Software Engineers in our Digital Organization will create the leading digital experience for our customers, enabling them to maximize value and convenience, by offering integrated year-round solutions, insights, and commerce! You will have a range of responsibilities from shaping and implementing strategic products, to ensuring that our 500,000 farmer grower customers stay on the leading edge of technology!
What you will do:
  • Assist in the design and implementation of high performance, enterprise scale data infrastructures designed for the fusion of data from local and third-party systems into canonical representations
  • Create canonical representations from which actionable information can be extracted through statistical models and machine intelligence in the domain of precision agriculture
  • Provide technical leadership for implementation of the designs of the architect, specifically incorporating modern distributed architectures designed to support data science and machine intelligence in the agricultural space
  • Establish and maintain technical standards for implementations
  • Assist Science staff with the integration of statistical and machine-learning-based agronomic models
  • Promulgate accepted international standards for the evaluation of software security and the use of formal methods for building provably correct software
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar disciplines, or equivalent professional experience
  • 6+ years of experience with the implementation and commercial delivery of large-scale enterprise data systems
  • Required Skills:
    • AWS offerings (RDS, CDK, Lambdas, etc.)
    • Python and Django; experience with Heroku, Scala and/or Akka desirable
  • Demonstrated experience with the development and deployment of enterprise scale data fusion architectures, ideally to support agricultural data science and machine intelligence applications
  • Demonstrated experience with customer-centric agile methods
  • Demonstrated experience with build-to-test and standard CI/CD pipelines
  • Demonstrated experience with ES/CQRS design patterns; experience with actor systems, persistent entities, and functional programming a plus, but not required
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of trusted systems evaluated relative to the Common Criteria strongly preferred, but not required
  • Strong experience with data architectures supporting data mining, and the application of statistical and machine intelligence models in agricultural contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed teams
