What you will do:
  • Agronomy Team Capability Manager
    • Build and maintain a world-class global agronomy team
    • Lead a team of about four technicians and seven scientists who lead projects to create new products and also develop efficacy data for existing products. Examples of projects may be new or improved nutritionals, soil amendments, crop protection and biostimulants
    • Responsible for annual performance evaluations for the team, using our industry best practices people leadership system
    • Foster the career development of direct reports
    • Accountable for the laboratory which house these scientist
    • Help create a critical mass of agronomy expertise from across groups internally and externally
  • Innovation & Product DevelopmentDrive innovative solutions. Drive a balance between theoretical and empirical scientific approaches for both self and direct reportsStay current with relevant professional / scientific societies. Read and share journal articles with direct reports and colleagues. Lead and organize educational seminars & discussions on relevant topicsFoster scientific exchange & collaboration with other agronomy teams within our company. Interview and hire contract research institutions when needed to supplement our internal capabilities
Process and Knowledge SystemsFoster the product development process and commercial support activities in the team. Manage tasks in our project management tool (Wrike). Track and drive the success of tasks assigned to direct reportsWork closely with Project Management Office in the Innovation group. Help to define key projects and the tasks which contribute to project success. Be an active, participating member of project teamsAccountable for organizing and improving knowledge systems related to agronomy activities (data management, statistical analysis, report archiving, etc.)Safety, Behavioral StandardsMaintain exemplary laboratories in terms of safety and complianceResponsible for continuous improvement in the safety culture of the team
  • Act as a leader and example for the company’s Behavioral Standards, which focus on Safety, Integrity, Inclusion, Performance, Community and Innovation
  • What you will bring:
      Ph.D. in Agronomy or related discipline preferred, Bachelor’s degree required10+ years relevant experience in Agronomy or a related field5+ years' leadership experience, either directly or indirectly managing a team of industry scientistsFormal experience in product development for nutritionals, crop protection or biostimulants strongly desiredProficiency with writing & reviewing research proposals, literature reviews, research protocols, analysis and interpretation of data and report writingDemonstrated ability to work independently and drive results
