The Corn and Soybean Crop Lead, North America will be responsible for leading the development of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Corn and Soybean Crop strategy, portfolio & lifecycle, crop production plan, and working closely with suppliers to implement plans that support the strategy. This role, reporting to the Head of Commercial Seed, will focus on driving robust multi-year product plans across respective crops for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Seed shelf, Dyna-Gro, and Proven in North America.
In addition, this role will be a key contributing member of the Seed Leadership Team and collaborate with Sales, Seed Marketing, Strategic Supplier Management, Digital, Agronomy, and other key functions to help drive comprehensive seed crop strategy plans for both the US and Canada.
The ideal candidate will have an established track-record of developing, deploying, and executing product management strategies and leading Crop Teams. In addition, this candidate will have strong background leading and influencing across a broad global organization.
What you will do:
  • Cotton, Rice, and Specialty Crop Strategy & Product Management
    • Own the development and implementation of multi-year crop strategies that cultivate a differentiated seed brand experience
    • Lead the Cotton, Rice, and Specialty Crop product management team and cross-functional Crop Teams to make strategic decisions to grow our seed business
    • Collaborate closely with Breeding, Region Seed Managers, Sales, Seed Marketing, Manufacturing, and Operations to identify opportunities and gaps in offering a comprehensive and differentiated product portfolio that provides customer choice, performance, and return-on-investment
    • Lead the development and annual review of the 5-year crop plan, motivating the 1-year product plan, which includes:
      • Acre and market trends
      • Trait strategy and implementation
      • Strategic Supplier crop partnerships
      • Product performance, testing, and data management
      • Seed shelf portfolio optimization
      • Portfolio and lifecycle management
      • Discard & obsolescence
      • Crop production plans
      • Seed treatment plan
  • Work in partnership with breeding on crop priorities and breeding partnerships
  • Lead strategic supplier management with assigned suppliers
  • Strengthen yearly product advancement, demand forecasting, and crop production plans
  • Lead the design and focus of the yearly product performance, testing, and data plan
  • Generate insights and direction to Seed Marketing on price to performance for the portfolio
  • Provide product technical guidance and training support to Seed Marketing & Sales
  • Oversee allocation of business resources, monitor product management budgets, and review results with management
  • Collaborate with Sales, Seed Marketing, Strategic Supplier Management, Finance, Digital, Agronomy, and other key functions
  • Work closely with Seed Marketing Lead to partner with key suppliers on marketing tactics
  • Collaborate with our Solutions team to represent holistic seed shelf within our Solutions plan
  • Attract, develop, and retain team members
  • Ability to travel 25%-40%
What you will bring:
    Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be consideredDegree in Business, Agriculture or related field preferredAdvanced degree (MBA) preferred Minimum 15 years of product management experience including one year in a mentor, supervisor or lead role requiredExperience in breeding, marketing and/or agriculture preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $120,400-$170,000. This range is estimated for the Corn & Soybean Crop Lead position in Loveland, Colorado.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our plan, which provide discretionary award opportunities reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.  Details will be discussed through the application process.
