What you will do:
  • Lead product management team and create people development plans by:
    • Ensuring product management team is aligned with strategic growth factors to maximize seed business potential
    • Ensuring product management team is organized, adequately trained, and manages resources appropriately to best deliver on crop strategy
    • Acting as a key leader on Seeds Leadership Team and Seeds Strategy Leadership Team
    • Acting as one of the key retail seed leaders, collaborating to set direction and building a great seed team
    • Creating people development plans for each direct report and collaborate with other managers to ensure alignment with their direct reports, e.g.: Brand Management, Regional Seed Managers, Divisional Seed Managers
  • Deliver portfolio and product management direction and execution through collaboration by:
    • Leading the collaboration efforts with internal partners (e.g. Breeding and Strategy) to ensure alignment with the crop strategy and 5-year plan
    • Leading the collaboration efforts with brand management, field offices, supply chain and seeds operations to build and forecast CY and CY+1 product / portfolio business plans
    • Leading the collaboration efforts with digital, marketing, breeding and the field to build data management and field trialing excellence
    • Supporting negotiations with Genetic and Trait suppliers for crop strategy, portfolio and product needs / access
    • Collaborating with Brand Management on campaign planning / execution to include building a product and portfolio training and execution plan
    • Collaborating with Dyna-Gro and Proven Brand Management to deliver profitable market share growth and overall seeds P&L
  • Own portfolio and product management excellence by:
    • Owning overall product advancement and production planning processes and plans by crop
    • Delivering year over year improvements in product cost of goods to meet annual budget expectations
    • Delivering lowest cost of goods products while maintaining highest performing products and portfolio
    • Owning data management strategy to support value pricing for Brand Management / Marketing
    • Owning and remaining accountable for tracking and managing portfolio discard / obsolescence
What you will bring:
    Bachelor’s degree required; Agriculture, MBA and / or Masters of Agronomy preferred10+ years' progressive experience in product management, supplier, retail / distribution5+ years’ experience in a leadership roleValid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug screen are requiredAbility to manage multiple employees, priorities, and projects simultaneouslyAbility to work with and maintain a good working relationship with a diverse employee and customer baseAbility to travel as needed. Required travel estimated between 30-40%
