Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Fleet to support Nutrien indirect procurement spend, the Manager, Farm Equipment and Heavy Machinery will be responsible for managing Nutrien’s farm and heavy machinery fleet across the Retail and Wholesale organizations throughout the entire equipment lifecycle. This fleet includes heavy agricultural equipment, heavy construction equipment, and material handling equipment. The Manager will also be responsible for managing supporting categories such as fuel, tires, maintenance, life cycle, and disposals. This will be a critical role as Nutrien migrates from a historically decentralized operating model to a center-led model that builds world-class Supply Chain organization that enables the success of field operations.
Serving the organization with an efficient and economical sourcing management modelUtilize the procurement COE as needed to develop governance, compliance, performance reporting and risk management programsIdentifying market trends to drive value opportunitiesDeveloping and executing category strategies covering equipment and heavy duty trucks and related spendLeading execution of strategic sourcing and relevant fleet optimization and improvement initiatives Creating Total Cost of Ownership model and supporting tools to support continuous improvement in sourcing and ongoing equipment performanceWorking with internal stakeholders and supplier partners, drive innovation within fleet management across the business
5-10 years as purchasing or asset managerSuccess negotiating with major farm equipment and heavy equipment manufacturersStrong understanding of farm equipment application and useAbility to work in a matrix organization across geographical and business boundariesWorking knowledge of machinery and demonstrated ability to relate to field operationsTechnical or Business degree related to procurement or field asset managementGreen belt certified (preferred)
