In this role you will be the field development and commercial agriculture expert to both internal and external project teams supporting both Novozymes BioAg R&D pipeline projects as well as existing commercial products.

In BioAg we develop science-backed microbial and microbially-derived products to improve and protect crop production. The Data Analytics and Field Development Team is part of an agile organization supporting our R&D pipeline as well as our commercial business. Through the design and execution of field trials throughout the Americas and Europe, this small team provides and analyzes the field data required to advance products through our stage-gate process or provide our commercial team with insightful information that supports regional sales opportunities. Working cooperatively as part of the larger BioAg organization on numerous cross-functional teams, this position will help bring a new level of reliable and sustainable biological products to support modern agricultural production.

 

 

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing and driving implementation of the field-testing strategy to support early to late-stage biological product development.
  • Functioning as key subject matter expert on field trial design and implementation, common agronomic practices and current industry offerings and trends with internal and external teams.
  • Assisting with the regulatory strategy and execution to enable field testing of controlled strains or compounds
  • Having the knowledge base to work with all Novozymes technologies on a wide range of cropping systems and maintaining strong commercial awareness
  • Delivering written and verbal reports including trial abstracts and scientific data summaries.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong and productive professional relationships with contract and university research scientists, extension specialists and crop consultants within the industry

 

 

 

To succeed you must hold:

  • A degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Biology, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Weed Science, Entomology or related discipline with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 20 years post-educational hands-on experience and a demonstrated background in agriculture or 17 years with a Master’s degree, or 11 years with a Ph.D.
  • External scientific network and key specialist knowledge of crop production systems including nutrient management, germplasm, traits, chemistries, and general agronomic practices
  • Proven track record of recognizable involvement in the development or improvement of several products or technology areas of major significance to Novozymes, preferably in the disciplines of both biological yield protection and biological pest control.
  • Extensive experience designing field trial strategy and conducting field research for pipeline projects and commercial products in large territories that have multiple markets. · Strong experimental design and analytical skills to generate, interpret and summarize scientific data and information. Familiarity with ARM software is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of science relevant to microbial products and field performance.
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate, advise, negotiate or influence others in a matrix organization as well as build productive working relationships in both academic and commercial settings.
  • Planning skills to organize, prioritize, schedule and coordinate work activities for multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future

  • This job will require frequent onsite presence at Research Triangle Park, NC
