Niobrara Red Angus is a Red Angus seedstock operation located in Niobrara, Nebraska. With our commitment to Redefining Red-Hided Cattle, our goal is to produce a consistent product that delivers measurable outcomes, maximizing protability for cow-calf producers and feeders alike.

We are seeking an accountable, dynamic, precise, and ambitious individual to join our team. Candidates should be passionate about the beef industry, enjoy being around cattle every day, and understand the importance of doing the little things right. This person will be a pivotal asset to the team in supporting the growth of the existing business and its future industry endeavors.

The Right Person

This role goes beyond doing chores. We’re looking for someone who cares about cattle. Someone who enjoys being around them and desires a connection with them. We’re looking for someone who is seeking the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills across all aspects of modern seedstock production.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary throughout the year and may include:

• Daily care, feeding, and managing the cattle according to established nutrition plans
• Monitoring cattle health and identifying animals that require attention
• Maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized cattle facilities
• Assisting with processing, vaccinations, tagging, breeding, pregnancy checking, and other herd-health activities
• Assisting with calving and care of newborn calves
• Helping maintain accurate cattle records and identification
• Assisting with cattle transportation and loading/unloading
• Assisting with sale cattle preparation and other seedstock marketing activities
• Assisting with hay production and hauling
• Operating tractors, loaders, ATVs/UTVs, trailers, and other ranch equipment
• General upkeep of equipment, facilities, fencing, corrals, and pastures

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• A genuine interest in the cattle industry and a passion for the Red Angus breed
• Flexibility with a schedule, knowing ranch work does not fit an 8-5 day
• Previous, hands-on experience working with registered cattle
• The ability to recognize changes in cattle behavior, health, or condition
• A calm, quiet demeanor when handling cattle
• Durability to accept feedback regularly
• A strong work ethic and willingness to work hard, with a desire to improve.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and pride in their work
• A positive attitude and professional approach to working with customers, breeders, and visitors

Horsemanship is not required.

Welding and mechanical skills preferred but not required.
