The Brolga Project puts university students needing work into staff-stressed rural and regional agencies, allowing students opportunities for career pathways in these areas.

The Brolga Project offers a fresh new approach to redressing the regional skills shortage, plugging the gap with enthusiastic young professionals.

The project seeks to put university students needing work experience into staff-stressed rural and regional host agencies, letting the students’ sample the excellent career and lifestyle opportunities available, in the sure knowledge that many students will enjoy their placement enough to return to a regional position when they graduate.

Just 19 months old, the project has over 700 students on its books; all who are hungry to try out the rich experience of regional community living. Student’s skills range from sports science and human movement, through agriculture and accounting to marketing, journalism, law and community development.
